A Foth road project in the City of Johnston, Iowa was selected by the Bentley Be Inspired awards (“Innovation in Roads” category) as one of the most innovative in the world. The Bentley awards showcase excellence and innovation in design, construction, and operations of architecture and engineering infrastructure projects around the world.
Foth’s NW 62nd Avenue project is a complex transportation project with a series of four multi-lane roundabouts on a major arterial roadway.
Several disciplines had major roles in the design of the project, including roadway, site, structural, drainage, and traffic designers. The fast-tracked schedule made it imperative that the team engage in effective, real-time communication across disciplines, project teams, and offices. Foth deployed Lean Project Delivery (LPD) tools and methods to facilitate collaboration, maximize communication effectiveness across stakeholders, and increase efficiencies.
By combining Bentley solutions with Foth’s exceptional technical staff and innovative spirit, the project was delivered to the client on-time, on-budget, and with advanced, sustainable electronic deliverables.
